AT THEIR BEST IN DECEMBER

Most of the world’s travel destinations are in the northern hemisphere.  December brings winter weather to most of that hemisphere.  However, the dry Northeast Monsoon prevails over much of eastern Asia, and the northern sub-tropics are also enjoying the drier of their two-seasons.

The trouble is that many of these places—while nice—are even nicer in some other month.  In the southern hemisphere, summer prevails.  Since most of the southern hemisphere’s land mass is in the tropics and subtropics, this means that they are cloudy, unpleasantly hot, and rainy—typical tropical and subtropical summer weather.

Fear not, after a diligent search of more than fifteen-hundred destinations, I managed to come up with twenty that are at their best in December.
