AT THEIR BEST IN FEBRUARY
February is much like January, only more so. It also usually brings excellent weather to
western India and the Malabar Coast.
These areas, along with much of Southeast Asia,
are still enjoying the benefits of the dry Northeast Monsoon.
The weather is also still excellent in those portions of
the southern hemisphere that have a Mediterranean-type climate or a tropical
desert climate: for instance, much of
western South America, the tip of South Africa,
and southern Australia.
Finally, those islands and coasts within the wet-and-dry
tropics that are having their dry seasons at this time of year are also at or
near their best. This includes most of
the true Caribbean
Islands, and the windward
shores of the Hawaiian Islands. Some of these places will have just a touch
nicer weather in January or March, and may be featured in those months.
As a rule of thumb, you can usually assume that if a place is
at its best in a particular month, then the months on either side of the
featured month will have pretty good weather too.
